The Preparatory Program prepares students for Degree Program study at the MIAS School of Business or at other faculties of the CTU. Students take classes in English, a Primer in Communication, and other courses pre-requisite for their successful study in the Degree Program, such as a Primer in Mathematics. The exact structure is determined by an initial evaluation with regard to the particular Degree Program, and stipulated by the student's Study Plan.
Organization of the Academic Year in the Preparatory Program is generally commensurate with that in Degree Programs, but when merited by particular students' learning needs, intakes may be arranged for the Summer Term, i.e. in mid-February. Students then attend the Preparatory Program for an odd number of Terms until they enrol in a Degree Program in September.
A full year includes 560 in-class sessions, guided self-study learning, project teamwork, regular revisions and feedback, consultations, progress test and final exam. In order to provide high-quality education, the number of students in language classes does not normally exceed 15.
Besides candidates' general potential and motivation to continue in a particular Degree Program study, pre-requisites for acceptance include working knowledge of the Latin alphabet and English at B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Acceptance and study in the Preparatory Program makes students eligible for a study visa and residency permit in the Czech Republic.
Enrol in a program enhancing your English communication skills and improving your other pre-requisites to succeed in a Degree program of your choice.
In the second term, in particular, the courses may be adjusted according to your individual needs.

A non-refundable one-time Registration Fee of CZK 10,000 (cca EUR 400) is payable upon application for any MIAS School of Business Degree or Preparatory Program. Upon its payment, applicants get registered in the Preparatory Program (with no commitment to study in that program and pay its tuition unless they choose to do so), which may streamline the visa process, where necessary. It also allows them to get comprehensive assistance in the application process, obtain all the necessary documents and take the Entry Exam in the Degree Program of their choice. Students enroling into a Program from any other MIAS Program are not required to pay this Registration Fee.
